Foundation Nepal Pariwar

Nepal Pariwar has its basis in Foundation Maiti Nepal in July 2000 with Mr. Jan Laan being the promoter. There was a close contact with the Nepalese organization at Kathmandu. It all started with a group of Dutch people visiting the house of Maiti at Kathmandu. As it developed in time, the Nepalese organization has grown rapidly with financial support from abroad. A huge complex has been build subsidized by Germany and USA. As we were/are a much smaller organization as the ones abroad and we don’t have the possibilities to maintain a structural financial contribution, we separated.

To avoid misunderstandings the name of the foundation was changed into Nepal Pariwar which means ‘feeling amongst family with Nepal and its habitants’. Goal of the foundation is to support Nepal and Nepalese organization (on request of Nepal). Areas where we gave and give support are
• Education (building school and House for Visual handicapped)
• Healthcare (Hospital)
• Small local projects (f.e. training- and meeting area’s for women groups)
• Water project (Save Sauraha)
At Chitwan, in the south of Nepal, 25 classrooms are build at 6 schools including a library, material for biology and topographic charts for geography. Quite an improvement. On a regularly base computers are send from the Netherlands.
If you would like to sponsor a child, that is possible. It is only costing 50 euro a year, but with the length of sponsoring for the time of 8 years in a row.
